This is the outset corned beef and cabbage recipe I have ever made. It was so skilful that I have no need to ever try another. As well the fact that it was very like shooting fish in a barrel to make, it tastes amazing! My beau says it is his new favorite dish. The just thing I would recommend is to trim the majority of fat off of the brisket because it tends to either stay on the meat, or melt off into your vegetables.

Served this last night to married man and guests. Succulent! This will exist my go-to recipe for corned beef! The only thing I will modify is to steam the cabbage separately to retain the pretty light-green color, as putting it in the crock-pot made it an ugly dark-brown (Tasty though!) Thanks for this wonderful recipe!
x/xviii/2012
This was delicious by the recipe, but I may tweak it a footling bit for more carrots & potatoes.
03/xviii/2013
I have been getting recipes from this website for several years at present. This the my get-go time that I'm rating a recipe. This recipe is FANTASTIC!! I used white potatoes (about half-dozen) and about 3 handfuls of infant carrots. I cut my meat in half and then it would better fit my crockpot and cut some of the fat off. I waited a couple of hours earlier I added one-half a large caput of cabbage. The flavor was excellent. This recipe is definitely a keeper!!
01/twenty/2013
Easy to make and slap-up flavor. Adjacent fourth dimension I will add the cabbage When is cooked one-half thru. The cabbage did not keep it's color.
03/22/2013
This was one of the best recipes I've ever tried for corned beefiness. I liked the picayune hint of sweetness. I added brown carbohydrate instead of white. I think ane-2 cups of water would be sufficient. I did not add the cabbage. I roasted that separately with onions in the oven, merely because I similar that better. I'thou quite sure this will exist my "go-to" recipe from at present on for St. Patrick'due south Day!
12/06/2012
I made this recipe, as is, and it was delicious. Definitely agree that perchance more than potatoes and carrots.
03/17/2015
I made this, but with a slight alteration. I added two cups of h2o and ane loving cup of night ale beer. I substituted brown carbohydrate for white sugar. I as well put the brisket on pinnacle of the potatoes, carrots and onion and "then" poured the whisked liquid slowly over the brisket. I placed the cabbage wedges effectually the beef (conscientious not to submerge them)and overlapped where necessary and sprinkled the wedges with seasoned salt. I set up the timer for 10 hours, and on the 9th hour, I slowly submerged the cabbage wedges into the liquid around the brisket. Everyone raved about it and asked for more than! Definitely a keeper!

Great!!!
03/17/2014
While I am not a corned beef connoisseur, I was asked to cook this for Saint Patrick'south Day for my girlfriend. What I can say, is that this is the best corned beefiness dinner I accept tasted, and she LOVED information technology!! Thanks for the recipe. I am looking forward to the grilled Ruben Sandwiches tomorrow!! Merely do as near people stated and only steam the cabbage for the concluding hour.
03/17/2014
Ok I need to say that I've never been a fan of corned beefiness, I employ a smoked shoulder for my boiled dinner (no hate comments please). But my honey is e'er looking for corned beefiness on St Patrick'southward solar day. So this yr I decided I'd withal make my traditional dinner, AND cook a corned beef in my crock pot. I looked at many of the slow cooker recipes and decided on this one given the ease and the not bad reviews. I followed the recipe to a T, other than I left out the potato and cabbage (because I was cooking those with my shoulder), I did add the other veggies for flavor, and I used a flat cutting of corned beef. I let it melt overnight on low (it prob cooked about 11 hours). This is definitely the mode to cook corned beef, information technology came out very tender and tasty! This recipe was VERY like shooting fish in a barrel to put together, all the ingredients were things I had on paw. Even if you are not a fan of corned beef (every bit I'yard not) simply you desire to give it a attempt, I highly recommend this recipe! Cheers Trisheee!! You accept (almost) fabricated me a fan of corned beefiness, and that'due south not an easy chore.
03/18/2013
So easy to make. Used babe carrots and red potatoes. I was not sure information technology was going to have plenty flavour. I was tempted to add broth instead of water but went past the recipe. It was very flavorful and so easy to make! It was nice to put it all in the crockpot and have dinner all prepare afterward.
03/09/2014
This is a great recipe! This is the only recipe I can get my son and husband to eat! I substituted the seasoning packet for 1 teaspoon allspice, 1 teaspoon ground mustard, & 1 teaspoon dill weed. Added everything else similar the recipe & ane knorr stock beef! Keen recipe! Thanks!
03/28/2016
This was the commencement time I used a apartment cut corned beefiness (rather than indicate cut), and it was MUCH less fat, and worth the difference in price. I started the crockpot on High, and forgot to turn it down, merely information technology turned out fine. Put the potatoes and carrots in the pot after about 3 hours - they cooked for iii hours - and that was perfect. I put the cabbage wedges on top for the last hour. It turned out dandy!
03/17/2015
I volition never try another recipe. My husband is non a lover of this meal and he said "this is the all-time corned beef you've ever made!" I cooked in crock pot on high for ii hours the 4-5 hrs on low. Put spices, corned beefiness with garlic and onion from the start. Added cabbage, carrots and potato when turned to low. Yummy!
03/15/2013
This will be the tertiary yr I've used this recipe for St. Patrick's Solar day. And so easy and comes out then delicious. Like nigh other reviewers, I too add more carrots & potatoes. Otherwise, I wouldn't change a affair.
03/19/2014
This recipe was great! My corned beef came with no spice packet then I looked up what was in the packet. I used cloves, ginger, brown sugar instead of white sugar, and a cinnamon stick along with the residuum of the ingredients in the recipe. My family all raved about how good it was.
03/28/2013
This turned out perfect- added a pound of baby carrots and five potatoes- per reviews- added the cabbage the terminal hour!!! Was amazing!!! The beginning time I take ever made or ate!! Give thanks yous!!! Will def make again!!!
02/25/2013
Came out prefect! The hub ate three huge helpings! WIN!
06/12/2013
I just made this the other night and it was nifty. We loved the taste. cheers for sharing.
03/sixteen/2014
I would add a bottle of Guiness Draught for more flavor and substitute brownish sugar for white sugar.
11/03/2013
The meat came out peachy but I was disappointed with the vegetables. I followed the recipe except I left out the potatoes and added more onion. The vegetables were really bland. I tin't effigy out where I went wrong. I did one 60 minutes on high and 6 hours on low. Next time I will put the meat on the bottom and add more seasoning.
x/21/2013
This was a huge hit with my married man and my toddler son, both of whom gobbled it right up and practically drank the sauce out of their dishes. Personally, I found information technology a bit as well salty, simply I tin can't error the recipe for that since the recipe doesn't even call for salt. I approximate my particular cutting of corned beef was actually salty, or there was a lot of salt in the included spice packet. Next time I think I'll endeavour the proposition of adding more cabbage and other veggies to assist to soak up more of the salty broth. There will be a side by side fourth dimension, though, since this was such a hit with the boys.
03/14/2015
I brand this every year for St Pat'southward and it e'er comes out slap-up! So like shooting fish in a barrel to make.
04/14/2013
I guess I oasis't had corned beef very often, but I acknowledge I was disappointed that my corned beef wasn't a scrap more tender than it turned out. I tried a apartment cut and a point cut thinking I would learn which I liked best. Neither was very tender after viii+ hours of cooking. I besides learned that the green cabbage looks far meliorate with the corned beef than the ruby that I tried. (It will dye your potatoes and carrots purple) So make sure you buy the green cabbage. The flavour was pretty good, it but wasn't as good as I had hoped.
03/23/2013
I will brand the cabbage separately-cut into chunks and pour sweet milk over information technology and steam-color is retained and the cabbage-OMG!! so good!
03/17/2013
I tried this recipe yesterday (got a slow start). Put information technology all in the fridge and heated information technology up today. DELICIOUS! I waited for my husband to say something & finally I said "Well???" He looked at me and said "Perfect". I thought so too. Thanks for sharing this with us Trisheee. Its bang-up. Only change I made was to use two Splenda packets instead of saccharide, since hubby is diabetic. Volition definitely use this from now on, as written. Yummm! Spoodledike.
03/xvi/2015
Dynamite recipe!!! I used a i can of Bud Light and the residue with water. I also used a 4 pound Center of Round Corned Beef Brisket which isn't that easy to find, but it has less fat, shrinks less, and is wonderful! It besides doesn't fall apart. My guests couldn't stop raving most it. Normally this is a meal I reserve for St. Patty'due south Twenty-four hours, but I'll be having this several times throughout the year, thanks to this stress-free wonderful recipe!
03/17/2014
This is super delicious and like shooting fish in a barrel! I did mine in the crockpot. I don't recommend cooking the vegetables like this - I think they taste terrible similar this but peradventure that's simply my personal prefence. The meat is crazy adept though! I was lazy and just did the sugar, vinegar, water, garlic, and seasoning packet and it's delish. It seems pretty hard to screw up. Off-white warning - this recipe will make your entire house smell... interesting.
06/10/2018
I made the corned beef pet the recipe only chose to dice the potatoes and cabbage dissever . As an Irish family I take fabricated tons of corned beef and cabbage dinners!!! I got the message loud and clear this is the recipe that I will be making going forward ! Thank yous got the recipe!
03/18/2013
Sooooo good! Fabricated it for St. Patrick's Mean solar day and it was so like shooting fish in a barrel and and then delicious. I call back I was a little heavy handed with the table salt and pepper. Nosotros had mixed reviews on whether it yet needed more than or not. I personally thought it was perfect but as I said, I added a footling more than than the recipe called for but that's merely a preference thing and easily customizable after serving. Thanks for the recipe! Will definitely make this again.
03/19/2015

03/17/2016
The whole family loved this! I used more potatoes and we love garlic and so I used 8 cloves. I used vegetable goop instead of water and added half a pint of Guinness. I followed the advice of other reviewers and but added the cabbage in the last hour -- it still had some green and some crunch to information technology. Delicious! And the meat merely brutal apart with a fork.
03/xviii/2013
Succulent then like shooting fish in a barrel! I used redskins cut in half and baby carrots. The only affair is I have a 6 quart crockpot and it was filled to the top, so I only put half the cabbage in (for flavor) and steamed the other half correct before it was finished. This will be my staple for St. Political party'due south Day from now on!!
03/21/2017
Aside from preparing the cabbage separately (I take another recipe for it) I made this as written. I wont exist on the hunt for another corned beef recipe because this is DELICIOUS!!!! Due to the long cook time, I made sure to keep the chunks of potatos and carrots quite big to prevent them from getting mushy. This 1 is a winner!!!
03/20/2017
This was the all-time corned beefiness and cabbage that I have ever made. Information technology was super easy to make. Some people said that it was also salty but i found that before y'all put it in your slow cooker you need to rinse off the alkali that it comes packaged in. Yummy. Thank you for this delicious recipe.
11/08/2016
You saved our corn beef and cabbage dark! I wanted to brand information technology for dinner, but didn't have time for complex instructions. Adding all ingredients at the aforementioned fourth dimension meant I could become on with my day and I didn't need to become to the store for beer and mustard. It came out perfect! Married man was delighted! The only thing I did different is I used infant potatoes which never demand peeling. And they retain their shape better. I make small cut into each one so they can soak in the flavors.
03/17/2019
I honey this recipe! I've made this at to the lowest degree four or five times and get rave reviews from everyone who eats it. I don't brand any adjustments, but follow the recipe as written. The apple tree cider actually adds season and tenderizes the corned beefiness.

Followed the recipe exactly. It was delicious!
04/01/2013
Ken loved information technology. Apply a bigger brisket next time.

Great for St. Patrick's Day. I doubled it for a political party of 25 people and it was a hit. I added more potatoes and carrots, as suggested.
04/04/2013
Easy and uncomplicated. I fabricated a soup with the leftovers. Only be sure to try and scrape off the seasoning packet ingredients if you endeavour the soup. Something in there was not good.

Was great and tender. Did not use the vinegar or sugar!
04/04/2016
All-time corned beefiness and cabbage I accept made yet! Great recipe and very easy! Didn't have apple cider vinegar only it still came out wonderful! I bought a iv lb. brisket and quartered one scarlet onion, this recipe had just the correct amount of veggies (we love our veggies.) I cooked it on boring for 12 hours, the meat melted in our mouths, even the fat office tasted good! Will be forwarding this recipe to family and friends, can't wait to brand information technology again!

04/25/2016
Keen recipe and easy with the crock pot. I love that the corned beef doesn't sit down information technology too much liquid so it isn't soggy, but lovely and tender.
03/16/2015
I followed this recipe precisely and gave it i star but considering the meat was good. I deducted iv stars considering the season of the vegetables and the cabbage overcooked. The meal would accept been far more pleasing had I used the corned beefiness spice packet only, for flavoring.

03/18/2019
This was a good i that me, my son and 1 of my granddaughters enjoyed. However, my other granddaughter wasn't as big of a fan because of the cabbage. This one is a good one and be sure to apply the left overs to make some Rueben'southward. Found a great one from this site.

05/19/2015
I love this! It is the outset time I have ever cooked corned beef. Information technology was succulent! It was also very tender. My married man loved it. I cooked exactly as the directions stated. Also information technology was an first-class idea to add the cabbage at the last hr of cooking. I prefer a little spicy. 03/17/2017
The season was dandy! My only event was the "signal cut" corned beef I used. I would highly recommend using apartment cut. By the time I cut all the fatty off, I had probably one.5lb of meat instead of 3. I'm a murphy lover then I would add together more potatoes also. Will definitely exist making this over again with the right cut of corned beef.

03/21/2020
It was proficient. A fleck sweet. I would cut dorsum on the sweetness and make it more savory. All in all, cracking. The meat shrunk a chip but very tender.
09/21/2019
Turned out real adept. Fabricated a few changes. Used russet potatoes with the pare. Used 2cups of goop & 1cup of h2o. I'chiliad withal learning to tweak when to add the cabbage. I don't want to cook it the whole time. Added it too late this fourth dimension. But, the meat, potatoes & onion were cracking. (No carrots)
